Meet Cheryl Bean
Cheryl Bean broke the glass ceiling on merit — in a time when many sought the easy way up.
I'm a self-made Texan, and I've never fit neatly into anyone's box. From Fortune 50 to local business, government contracts to small budgets, I've been there. I started out living in a trailer, and through hard work and a lot of faith, I raised my family as a single mom and built a good life for them - and a successful home-building company along the way. More than once, I broke through the glass ceiling on merit at a time when plenty of people were looking for the easy way up. I did it the right way instead.
The daughter of an Air Force fighter pilot, I’ve always had a heart for service. I earned a master’s degree in engineering and spent 20 years in the aerospace and defense industry, leading teams that built high-tech systems and developed war-gaming strategies. For the last 15 years, I’ve run a design/build general contracting company. I’m the Past President of the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association and serve on the Board of Directors of the Texas Association of Builders, where I’ve helped shape Texas legislation on small business, taxes, and housing.
But the work I’m proudest of happens closer to home. My employees trust me to take care of them and invest in their families, and I’ve never taken that for granted. When my community needs boots on the ground — to serve our veterans, support people with disabilities, stand up recovery programs, or protect children and families at risk — they know I’m the one to call.
I’m running for HD 94 to bring that same fight to Austin: to lower the cost of living for hardworking families, protect the good-paying jobs that keep the Texas Miracle alive, keep our kids safe online, and make sure help comes immediately when a family calls for it. I believe in parents’ right to direct their children’s education, and I’ll always stand up for our faith and our families.
